Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and maintain trusted relationships with senior government officials, policymakers, regulators, and relevant stakeholders; serve as AMD’s primary representative before ministries, agencies, and public institutions.
  • •Lead government engagement in Malaysia with key ministries and agencies (including MITI, MOF, Ministry of Digital, and MIDA), relevant state governments, and the U.S. Embassy.
  • •Monitor and help shape policy developments; develop advocacy strategies and prepare policy positions, executive briefing materials, and stakeholder engagement plans.
  • •Represent AMD in consultations on legislation, regulation, and industrial policy initiatives, advising on priorities related to semiconductors, AI, the digital economy, incentives, research and innovation, trade, export controls, and workforce development.
  • •Support major capital investment and strategic projects in Malaysia by coordinating external stakeholder engagement for incentive programs, grants, and partnerships, and delivering executive reporting and risk assessments.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: MYR 260,400 - 372,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Extensive experience in government relations, public policy, regulatory affairs, public sector engagement, or a related discipline.
  • •Experience working with or for the Malaysian government, government-linked institutions, multinational corporations, trade associations, or consulting organizations.
  • •Strong understanding of Malaysia’s political institutions, policymaking processes, and economic development priorities.
  • •Demonstrated success engaging senior government officials and business executives, with excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • •Experience in semiconductors, technology, digital infrastructure, telecommunications, manufacturing, or another advanced technology sector (familiarity with Malaysia’s National Semiconductor Strategy is advantageous).
