Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop, implement, and govern ontologies and optimized data models in consultation with stakeholders to improve data discoverability and search.
  • •Contribute to data integration and mapping efforts to harmonize data with upper and domain ontologies.
  • •Advocate the value of ontology, semantics, and standardization initiatives across the business.
  • •Partner with Technology and Machine Learning teams to develop and integrate semantic capabilities into Capital One products and services.
  • •Analyze and implement knowledge organization strategies and test/troubleshoot new or updated models and systems.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 131,300 - 149,800 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in information science, computer science, engineering, library science, ontology, semantics, or computational linguistics (or combination).
  • •At least 3 years’ experience in a metadata field, or a master’s degree in a related discipline.
  • •At least 3 years’ experience or training with W3C standards for linked/canonical data and ontologies, including RDF, RDFS, OWL, and SKOS.
  • •At least 3 years’ experience or training using ontology and linked-data tools such as Protégé, TopQuadrant, PoolParty, Stardog, AnzoGraph, Neptune, or Data.World.
  • •At least 3 years’ experience or training with SQL or SPARQL (or combination).
