Job Summary

Own perception outcomes for autonomous mining vehicles, working across customer sites in Australia, Europe, and the US. Design and implement perception systems, plan data collection and labeling for production readiness, and make build-vs-reuse decisions when standing up new product lines. Triage real-world field failures (data quality, calibration, timestamps) and partner with core platform, customer engineering, and BD to translate requirements into technical specs and KPIs.

Key Responsibilities

•Design and implement perception systems to enable new product capabilities by leveraging existing model heads and solving new perception tasks.
•Design data strategy for new deployments, including what data to collect, how much, and how to label it for production-ready models.
•Make build-vs-reuse tradeoffs when standing up new product lines, defining output types, KPIs, and collaboration points with core teams.
•Triage model and system issues in the field (timestamps, data quality, calibration) and decide whether to resolve directly or work with core platform to fix upstream.
•Collaborate daily with core autonomy platform, customer engineering, and BD to help stand up new product lines and develop existing ones.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 180,000 - 255,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Strong systems-level understanding of perception, and ideally planning/controls, to reason about the full stack.
•Experience diagnosing real-world model failures in deployed systems and driving them to resolution through hands-on work or cross-team negotiation.
•Comfort translating ambiguous, evolving customer requirements into technical specifications and KPIs.
•A product-owner mindset focused on customer success and problem ownership.
•Familiarity with PyTorch, ONNX, TensorRT, Docker, Python, and some C++.
