Key Responsibilities

  • •Coordinate and perform coal handling activities, including operating, inspecting, maintaining, and lubricating coal handling equipment.
  • •Operate railcar and barge operations, including shifting by operating pullers/cables, operating car heating equipment, preparing locomotives for operation and standby, and acting as a weigh master.
  • •Read, interpret, and implement technical information from OEM manuals, electrical/mechanical P&IDs, and operating and maintenance procedures.
  • •Operate and troubleshoot ash/slag handling equipment and related cranes/mobile equipment, including performing routine equipment testing and maintaining environmental logs.
  • •Prepare work permits using SAFE Access to Plant (or similar), write work orders and maintain records/tonnages in computerized systems, and maintain clean working areas in accordance with health, safety, and environmental standards.

Key Requirements

  • •High school degree (or equivalent).
  • •Valid drivers license.
  • •Knowledge of job safety requirements and demonstrated ability to learn.
  • •Strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • •Three years of related experience in power plant operation, maintenance, and operating coal handling equipment is strongly preferred.
