Job Summary

Build and improve developer infrastructure for the Developer Experience team, covering key systems such as CI/CD, test infrastructure, observability, and dev/test environments. Optimize performance and usability across the development pipeline, partner with teams across iOS, Android, web, and backend to address tooling pain points, and evaluate and adopt modern technologies (including GenAI tooling) that strengthen reliability and developer productivity.

Key Responsibilities

•Own realization of the company charter across infrastructure components including build systems, CI/CD, test infrastructure, observability, and dev/test environments.
•Optimize performance, improve usability, and simplify configuration of developer workflows throughout the development pipeline to production.
•Partner across engineering teams (iOS, Android, web, and backend) to identify tooling pain points and gaps, and iterate on solutions.
•Explore and evaluate new technologies and drive adoption of impactful technologies at Thumbtack.
•Drive engineering projects to completion with a focus on developer impact, prioritizing tasks to meet goals and solve problems across the stack.

Key Requirements

•Minimum 4+ years of industry experience in software engineering.
•Fluent in at least one major programming language and able to switch across languages and frameworks.
•Experience writing high-quality, maintainable, testable, reliable, and performant code.
•Experience working on a developer infrastructure team or in developer experience roles, or contributing to related open source projects.
•Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to understand tradeoffs and break down complex problems.
