Job Summary

Learn to provide high-quality care, learning, and development for children at The Elms Day Nursery. You’ll help keep children safe and stimulated in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), follow safeguarding and health & safety requirements, and partner with parents/carers. The role includes light domestic duties, observing and assessing children’s development, supporting key worker routines, and planning activities such as arts, cooking, reading, music, and outdoor play.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide high-quality, positive care and nurturing interaction for children through social, emotional, educational, and practical support.
•Follow policies and procedures, including Children Act (2006), health and safety legislation, and requirements of Ofsted and EYFS while maintaining confidentiality.
•Ensure children are kept safe and well by following child protection procedures and implementing the key worker system.
•Undertake observation and assessment of children’s learning and development, keeping records up to date and sharing information appropriately.
•Organise and maintain a clean, tidy, hygienic, safe environment and plan, prepare, and supervise a range of activities; complete light domestic duties as required.
