Job Summary

Support overhead transmission line design for power and transmission projects, from feasibility through detailed engineering deliverables. Prepare sag tension calculations, clearance checks, and loading conditions using PLS Tower, and produce technical abstracts, PLS tower models, and transmission tower/foundation engineering documents. Collaborate in virtual team meetings and provide drawing changes during project build, applying relevant engineering standards and UK/Nordics overhead line expertise.

Key Responsibilities

•Prepare technical abstracts from feasibility studies and specifications.
•Perform sag tension calculations, clearance checks, and loading conditions using PLS Tower and applicable standards.
•Prepare loading calculations in Excel and optionally in PLS CADD; develop PLS Tower models according to international codes.
•Prepare engineering documents for transmission tower and foundation design.
•Attend virtual team meetings and provide ongoing design drawing changes/support during project build.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and 5+ years of experience in the domain.
•Proven experience designing UK or Nordics overhead line circuits (towers and/or poles) up to 400kV.
•Knowledge of PLS Tower/PLS pole for tower development.
•Tower design experience.
•Eurocode experience is preferred and professional qualification (near Chartered) is preferred.
