Job Summary

Investigate litigated complex credit hire claims, managing a caseload of DA credit hire and injury files through to court hearings. Review and analyze case files in line with client guidelines, conduct legal research, draft key court documents and questions, and carry out telephone negotiations with third-party solicitors. Maintain client relationships, ensure actions are completed in the Case Management System, and complete MI, bills, and compliance with ISO 9001 and SRA standards.

Key Responsibilities

•Handle a caseload of DA credit hire and injury files under supervision, reviewing and analyzing files throughout each case.
•Develop an initial strategy for approval by the Team Leader and undertake legal research.
•Conduct telephone negotiations with third-party solicitors and liaise with the insured and insurers when required.
•Manage case actions in the Case Management System, completing MI processes and processing bills.
•Support the court process by drafting defences and completing pre-trial documents and questionnaires, including directing questionnaires and CPR Part 18/35 questions.

Key Requirements

•Experience of litigation and handling Credit Hire files with evidence of managing your own case load.
•At least 5 GCSEs or equivalent; a degree / LPC is preferable.
•Excellent listening and verbal communication skills, including good telephone negotiation skills.
•Strong ability to plan and prioritise workloads, follow work processes, and keep to strategy.
•Ability to remain calm under pressure and recognise when sensitivity and tact are required.
