Job Summary

Lead mechanical (MEP/Building Services) design work within an engineering consultancy team, producing IFC drawings, schedules, datasheets, schematics and P&ID deliverables. Prepare technical submittals, heat load calculations, and detailed design outputs while coordinating with other services (e.g., electrical and PHE). Partner with the Building Services team, contribute to design reviews, and mentor junior members to deliver cost-effective solutions and support programme delivery.

Key Responsibilities

•Work with the Local CRC Head of MEP to address any variance between works constructed and design intent.
•Lead the design process and encourage the team to deliver appropriate, cost-effective solutions aligned to the programme.
•Participate in team meetings, disseminate information within the team, and communicate with other WSP teams.
•Identify and flag additional fees to the Local CRC Head of MEP.
•Complete timesheets accurately ahead of weekly deadlines.

Key Requirements

•Produce IFC drawings, schedules, datasheets, schematics, and P&ID deliverables as part of project design work.
•Possess membership to an accredited engineering body (e.g., MIET, CIBSE, INSRAE, ASHRAE).
•Have excellent working knowledge of ISHRAE and ASHRAE, with good working knowledge of mechanical engineering (ME) codes.
•Prepare heat load calculations and carry out detailed design, calculations, drawings, and regular design reviews.
•Be conversant with technical software such as AutoCAD, MEP drafting tools, and Hevacomp, and be able to work with minimal supervision.
