Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead solution design from discovery through delivery for Japan digital initiatives, including defining architecture and integration patterns aligned to security, performance, scalability, and maintainability.
  • •Establish and coach engineering best practices such as code quality, CI/CD, testing, code reviews, and observability; drive shift-left quality and improve production readiness.
  • •Plan and execute technical delivery by managing increments, dependencies, release readiness, and balancing technical debt.
  • •Lead, coach, and develop engineers through mentoring, feedback, career development, and support hiring/onboarding; manage external/outsourced resources when applicable.
  • •Represent engineering in stakeholder discussions, communicate technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences, and partner with cross-functional teams to ensure stable production operations.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • •8–10 years of professional software engineering experience delivering complex, enterprise-scale solutions.
  • •3+ years in an engineering leadership role (Engineering Lead/Technical Lead or equivalent) with responsibility for technical direction, engineering quality, and delivery outcomes.
  • •Experience leading engineering teams through the full SDLC in Agile environments, influencing architecture decisions and engineering standards.
  • •Hands-on experience with modern architectures (APIs, microservices, cloud systems) and familiarity with CI/CD, testing, release management, production operations, and DevOps/SRE/platform engineering; Java, .NET, or JavaScript experience is expected.
  • •Experience with integration platforms, retail technology, omni-channel environments, or consumer-facing digital platforms.
  • •Fluent English communication skills, written and verbal.
