Job Summary

Maintain and expand DigitalOcean’s physical cloud infrastructure by deploying and troubleshooting data center hardware, including servers, switches, routers, storage, and power/cooling systems. You’ll diagnose network, hardware, and Linux OS issues, manage RMA and inventory, and support remote work and incident resolution. As a Senior Engineer, you’ll also help standardize operational frameworks and document procedures while participating in on-call and occasional domestic/international travel.

Key Responsibilities

•Deploy and maintain data center infrastructure, including racking, stacking, wiring, and installing servers, switches, routers, and storage hardware.
•Submit and manage RMA with equipment manufacturers, including shipping/receiving gear to and from remote locations and vendors.
•Submit and track remote work requests and manage server and component inventory/asset management.
•Diagnose, repair, and upgrade hardware and perform integrations, rebuilds, and other projects as needed.
•Debug network, hardware, and Linux OS issues, evaluate incidents using data, and update operational documentation and procedures.

Travel: Medium travel

•Ability to diagnose, repair, and upgrade hardware, maintain inventory/asset management, and keep operational documentation up to date.
