Job Summary

Design and deploy server clusters for Akamai’s Edge Platform, remotely diagnosing hardware issues and managing hardware assets. You’ll monitor and respond to infrastructure alarms within SLAs, troubleshoot switch/router/network problems, and support high-severity incidents. Collaborate with field technicians, data centers, and external partners while creating and maintaining monitoring alerts, runbooks, and operational documentation. Work a rotating schedule in India time (IST).

Key Responsibilities

•Monitor and respond to server, router, switch, and operating system alarms within defined SLAs.
•Troubleshoot network hardware and remotely manage infrastructure assets to ensure platform stability.
•Diagnose and resolve switch, router, and network infrastructure issues.
•Support resolution of high-severity technical incidents and operational escalations.
•Install, configure, optimize, and automate network infrastructure; collaborate with field technicians, data centers, and partners; and maintain alerts, runbooks, and operational documentation.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role/domain.
•Experience with network technologies and basic networking knowledge.
•Experience with data center portals.
•Proficiency in network technologies with OSI layer 2 and a working understanding of OSI layer 3, 4 & 7 (HTTP/HTTPS/DNS).
•Basic knowledge of bash/perl/python scripting in a Linux/Unix environment and SQL.
