Job Summary

Own Zalando Group’s direct tax reporting under IFRS across the (quarterly) financial reporting cycle. Lead the full reporting process, output, and underlying tax technology, and act as primary contact for Finance and external auditors. Drive analytics and documentation, mentor the tax team, and take responsibility for direct tax tools and new obligations including OECD Pillar 2, (public) CbCR, Tax Contribution, and ESG reporting.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead direct tax reporting processes as part of the financial reporting cycle and ensure documentation of processes.
•Own direct tax numbers for the group and represent Zalando’s tax positions to internal stakeholders and external auditors.
•Prepare transparent tax analytics for tax leadership and support smooth communication of tax positions.
•Lead the entire process, output, and underlying tax technology, including implementation of new direct tax tools and AI where appropriate.
•Manage and deliver reporting obligations including OECD Pillar 2, (public) CbCR, Tax Contribution, and ESG reporting.

Key Requirements

•Degree in tax, law, economics, business administration, or a comparable background.
•Deep expertise in corporate tax accounting, financial reporting, and consolidation, ideally under IFRS and/or German GAAP.
•Understanding of CbCR and OECD Pillar 2, with interest in OECD/EU Commission impacts on tax reporting.
•Proven experience implementing and owning complex financial processes, controls, and continuous improvement.
•SAP knowledge (or experience with similar analytical programmes) and ability to communicate outcomes to non-specialists.
