Job Summary

Support the Science Department by preparing and organising practical science lessons and experiments, maintaining modern laboratory facilities, and ensuring the right materials, equipment, and consumables are available for students and teachers. Key Responsibilities

•Prepare practical activities and science experiments in collaboration with the Head of Science and science teachers, ensuring all materials and equipment are available.
•Organise, prepare, and manage science experiments under the guidance of the Head of the Science Department, and oversee overall lab maintenance.
•Maintain accurate inventories and registers of laboratory equipment, chemicals, and consumables to ensure resources are well managed and readily available.
•Keep laboratories clean, organised, secure, and operational, and monitor equipment while promptly reporting breakages, defects, or maintenance requirements.
•Support laboratory health, safety, and risk management procedures, including safeguarding and timely reporting of HSE incidents, hazards, and defects.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor's degree in Science or a related discipline.
•Minimum of one year of experience as a laboratory technician or similar science support role, preferably in an educational environment.
•Sound understanding of laboratory procedures, equipment handling, and safe storage of chemicals.
•Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to manage inventories and laboratory records.
•Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff and students.
