Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead end-to-end delivery of UK highway design projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • •Act as a technical specialist applying advanced engineering principles to resolve complex design challenges.
  • •Manage multiple projects simultaneously with efficient resource allocation and delivery outcomes.
  • •Ensure compliance with QA, CDM, Sustainability, and HSE standards; identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and technical issues.
  • •Lead and manage up to 15 engineers and designers, providing technical guidance, mentoring, supervision, and fostering team performance and culture.

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum 5+ years of experience in UK highway design, including road geometry, pavement design, road restraint systems, signage/road markings, and site clearance.
  • •Strong proficiency in design tools including Civil 3D, OpenRoads, MX, PDS/Keyline, AutoCAD, and ProjectWise.
  • •Proven experience delivering projects within budget and programme constraints, and managing project/resource planning.
  • •Ability to produce technical reports, specifications, and design documentation.
  • •Strong understanding of UK design standards, trends, and communication/organisational/time-management skills.
