Key Responsibilities

•Provide technical leadership across transit traction power engineering; guide drafters/designers and junior engineers on diagrams, SCADA, wiring, substation layouts, equipment specs, and project documentation.
•Develop conceptual to Issued for Construction drawings and document packages; create test procedures and reports for design verification and validation.
•Perform grounding design, load flow, harmonic, power flow, voltage drop, relay settings and coordination, and arc-flash studies; coordinate duct bank drawings with system disciplines.
•Support CAD for BIM clash detection; assist in system implementation phases (installation, testing, commissioning, cutover, record drawings) and assist procurement with technical requirements and vendor evaluations.
•Conduct site investigations of MV substations and along electrified rail; ensure compliance with IEEE/NETA standards; participate in project scheduling and cost estimation.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or closely related discipline.
•10+ years of relevant post education experience in engineering and prior transit and rail experience.
•Engineering License or ability to obtain within six months of employment.
•Strong communication and technical writing skills; ability to effectively communicate with clients, supervisors, office staff, and inspectors regarding project status and issues.
•Experience with CAD products such as AutoCAD or MicroStation and Microsoft Office; Bluebeam Software.
