Job Summary

Engineering Manager for Databricks’ Execution Sandbox within the Serverless Compute Platform. You will lead and scale a team of senior engineers, deliver a greenfield provisioning service powering non-Spark compute workloads, ensure production-grade reliability across GPU onboarding, UDF generalization, and managed REPL, and align API contracts across multiple partner organizations while shaping long-term product strategy.

Key Responsibilities

•Own end-to-end delivery of the Execution Sandbox service from inception to production scale, shaping the vision and guiding evolution.
•Inherit and build out a high-performing team of senior engineers, establishing ownership boundaries and architectural doctrine while hiring additional staff.
•Ensure execution health and production-grade reliability across a range of use cases (GPU onboarding, UDF generalization, managed REPL).
•Unify fragmented compute surfaces by converging CPU/GPU paths into a single provisioning service and eliminating parity bugs.
•Collaborate across 5+ partner organizations to align API contracts and milestones across Serverless Platform, AI Runtime, Lakeguard, and product teams.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 180,500 - 225,600 annually

Key Requirements

•5+ years managing engineers building and operating distributed systems in production, ideally control-plane or orchestration services
•BS or higher in Computer Science or a related field; equivalent practical experience
•Deep technical fluency in infrastructure systems; ability to review architecture docs, challenge design tradeoffs, and coach senior ICs
•Experience with multi-cloud or multi-region service deployment (AWS, Azure, GCP)
•Bias toward operational rigor with observability, SLOs, pre-mortems, and healthy on-call cultures
