Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the monthly performance cycle for Qantas Airlines, including result close, variance analysis, and commentary for Segment CFO and Group Finance.
  • •Run reforecasting, target setting, and continuous planning cycles end to end, from driver assumptions through submission and review.
  • •Deliver financial analysis supporting unit cost, capacity, and network decisions, including the trade-offs leaders need to see.
  • •Translate operational drivers of an airline cost base (capacity, utilisation, network, fleet) into a financial view leaders can act on.
  • •Lead and develop three Senior Financial Analysts, creating clear ownership across planning and performance cadence.

Key Requirements

  • •8+ years in FP&A, commercial finance, or finance business partnering with end-to-end ownership of a forecast or budget cycle.
  • •Experience leading and developing a team, including setting priorities and maintaining delivery quality.
  • •Strong driver-based forecasting and modelling skills, with judgement to distinguish meaningful variances from noise.
  • •Proven track record influencing senior leaders and confidently challenging assumptions.
  • •CA or CPA qualified (or equivalent) with tertiary qualifications in finance, commerce, or a related discipline.
