Job Summary

Serve as a senior technical coordinator bridging design oversight and construction oversight for Amtrak’s B&P Tunnel Replacement (BPTR) program. Independently review and resolve technical issues on construction submittals, RFIs, and field changes across multiple GMP packages. Validate DJV/EOR responses, support RFC drawings and change management, lead technical discussions, maintain engineering tracking tools, and collaborate with permitting and AHJs to ensure defensible, timely engineering decisions.

Key Responsibilities

•Review construction submittals, RFIs, design clarifications, shop drawings, and technical queries, providing routine engineering responses without escalation.
•Validate DJV and EOR technical responses for impacts to scope, schedule, cost, safety, and field feasibility.
•Resolve technical issues from field conditions, proposed changes, and contractor means and methods; escalate only the most complex issues.
•Support preparation and issuance of Released for Construction (RFC) drawings and documentation.
•Function as a liaison across the Owner, DJV, Construction Managers, and contractors to maintain alignment, and manage submittal/RFI lifecycles with tracking and reporting.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 140,000 - 220,000 annually

•Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of relevant experience (or equivalent education/experience).
•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.

•Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure, rail, tunnel, or heavy civil projects.
