Perform advanced mechanical and cosmetic repairs on customer and internal vehicles while meeting CarMax Certified Quality and Retail Repair Process standards. Diagnose and repair brakes, steering, suspension, 4-wheel alignments, and heating/air conditioning, and ensure shop cleanliness using 5S. Manage repair orders and parts inventory, consult with customers on repair needs, and follow CarMax Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) requirements to support efficient store operations.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform advanced mechanical repairs, including engine performance, drivability, and electrical systems.
•Diagnose and repair brake systems, steering, suspension, complete 4-wheel alignments, and service heating and air conditioning systems.
•Inspect vehicles to meet CarMax Quality Standards and maintain shop cleanliness using 5S principles.
•Consult with customers on repair needs, explain services performed, and ensure clear communication.
•Review and close repair orders accurately and manage parts inventory, shipments, and stocking levels.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 28.8 - 43.2 hourly

Key Requirements

•Completion of New Associate Orientation Training – Operations and Kronos Training for Hourly Associates.
•Where required by state/local law, maintain ASE Certifications for steering and suspension (A4), brakes (A5), heating and air conditioning (A7), electrical (A6), engine repair (A1), manual drive train and axles (A3), engine performance (A8), and automatic transmission/transaxle (A2).
•Ability to read, interpret, and record data accurately.
•Capable of performing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
•Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods, with flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
