Key Responsibilities

  • •Assist the Senior Planner and Head of Land and Property Services with planning strategy development and project support.
  • •Provide planning opinion on planning permission requirements; undertake planning site assessments and appraisals of proposed planning projects.
  • •Support planning projects from inception to delivery, including preplanning consultations, planning applications/reports, responses to further information requests, and management of appeals.
  • •Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to prepare environmental reports supporting planning submissions, including EIAR and AA where assigned.
  • •Collate, analyse, and interpret socio-economic, demographic, and policy material for development proposals and policy change, and prepare reports/presentations for stakeholders and senior management.

Key Requirements

  • •5 years post-qualification experience in urban planning (private practice, state/semi-state, consultancy, or combination).
  • •Knowledge of the Irish planning system, including key policies/guidelines shaping planning decisions and relevant regulation compliance.
  • •Experience preparing and submitting planning applications of varying types, sizes, and complexities.
  • •Experience undertaking planning feasibility studies, including viability assessment and identification of potential planning risks.
  • •A recognised third level qualification (HETAC Level 8 or equivalent) in a relevant area such as Planning; membership with IPI and/or RTPI is desirable.
