Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and implement country-specific, time-sensitive nuclear security assistance projects and strategies with host-government and US government interagency partners.
  • •Manage complex interagency relationships and coordinate complementary capabilities across the whole-of-US nuclear sector.
  • •Review threat reduction proposals and recommend funding based on geographic and subject-matter expertise.
  • •Support budget planning and execution for grants, cooperative agreements, and interagency agreements, including financial monitoring, reconciliation, and closeout.
  • •Conduct research and analysis, develop innovative strategies as the environment evolves, and represent CTR in technical/policy discussions and working groups.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years’ relevant experience, or Master’s with 5+ years, or Ph.D. with 1+ year; international affairs/national security/foreign policy or technical background preferred.
  • •Demonstrated experience working on USG international nonproliferation, nuclear energy, scientific, or WMD nonproliferation/national security programs, including designing and facilitating exercises and workshops.
  • •General familiarity with civil nuclear reactor technology (ideally including small modular reactors), threat reduction programming, and assistance programming for foreign partners.
  • •Strong writing, analysis, research, strategy development, interagency coordination, and implementing international programs in a culturally sensitive manner.
  • •Ability to receive and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance; US citizenship required; international travel may be required (foreign language skills are a plus).
