Perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment. Manage parts inventory on a service truck, document repair work and forms using a company iOS device and TRAIT application, and comply with OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
•Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment across mechanical and electronic systems (e.g., brakes, electrical, cooling, engines, transmissions, clutches, differentials).
•Inspect, test, and troubleshoot defective equipment using tools and instruments, and road test vehicles to verify repairs.
•Independently manage parts inventory and equipment on the company-issued service truck, including periodic reconciliation.
•Document work and complete DOT and other forms; communicate with management/support to obtain approvals and retrieve PO numbers as needed.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma/GED with 3 years’ experience in a related field (or an equivalent combination such as a degree/certification beyond HS or 5 years’ experience).
•Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within eighteen months.
•Be able to complete and pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment.
•Maintain a current, valid DOT medical card with more than four months remaining until expiration (or be able to take a DOT physical if it has four months or less).
•Hold a current Class C license and a valid driver’s license; be at least 21 years old.
