Job Summary

Provide legal counsel to ensure the business unit’s activities comply with applicable laws and international trade requirements. Partner with the Head of Dispute Resolution on strategic initiatives, advise management on potential or filed lawsuits, and work to settle disputes amicably. Take legal action for contract breaches, review construction-related contracts to protect business rights, issue necessary legal notices and guarantees, and improve legal service governance and policies.

Key Responsibilities

•Ensure business unit activities adhere to the legal framework, prevailing laws, and international trade requirements.
•Work with the Head of Dispute Resolution on strategic initiatives and support amicable settlements in disputes.
•Monitor and inform management about lawsuits filed and potential lawsuits, and take appropriate action.
•Take legal action against parties breaching signed agreements, including contractors and suppliers.
•Review construction contracts (contractors, consultants, project managers, suppliers, sub-contractors, designers, architects) and issue legal notices, letters, warranties, and guarantees as needed.

Key Requirements

•Minimum 7-10 years’ experience in law firms or corporations for a similar position.
•Bachelor’s degree in Law, with admission before the Bar; a Master’s degree is an asset.
•Knowledge of SOP, IMS, and other standards.
•Ability to plan and organize.
•Supervisory skills.
