Key Responsibilities

  • •Optimize and sustain value by ensuring leading practices are implemented across study, design, construction, commissioning, handover, and ramp-up for fixed plant assets.
  • •Represent operations and maintenance needs in design, risk, and readiness reviews with focus on safety, operability, maintainability, and reliability.
  • •Provide advice and support through all project stages in line with Rio Projects endorsed methodology.
  • •Identify improvement opportunities across safety in design, reliability, and operations and maintenance for new and existing assets.
  • •Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, RTIO standards, and industry best practice.

Key Requirements

  • •Tertiary qualification in Electrical & Control Systems Engineering.
  • •Experience with fixed plant electrical and control systems in mining, mineral processing, heavy industry, or another safety-critical environment.
  • •Practical knowledge of HV/LV systems, switchgear, protection, drives, instrumentation, PLC, SCADA, and plant control interfaces.
  • •Knowledge of functional safety systems and processes (advantageous).
  • •Strong stakeholder communication skills and disciplined safety leadership with governance in a mining or relevant industry.
