Job Summary

Lead development and optimization of AML transaction monitoring systems for Mashreq Bank Pakistan’s Retail Banking group. Collaborate with compliance and regulatory technology teams to enhance monitoring frameworks, alert scoring, data quality, and risk coverage. Oversee transaction monitoring performance and investigations outcomes, support automation and advanced analytics/ML initiatives, and translate requirements into BRDs with technical specs and UAT support while ensuring audit-ready records and data governance.

Key Responsibilities

•Manage AML transaction monitoring system performance by overseeing alert/case volumes and investigation outcomes, and provide coaching and training.
•Oversee data management by validating ETL exception reports/process, data mapping, and data quality reports.
•Define specifications for AML transaction monitoring scenarios/models and design risk-based alert scoring.
•Partner with regulatory technology and support AML TM projects, including translating business/compliance/regulatory requirements into BRDs and technical specifications.
•Support compliance by performing adhoc extracts, analysis, and statistical interpretation using SQL/relevant tools; support audit and model validation reviews and remediate findings.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field with strong quantitative and qualitative methodological skills.
•Knowledge of AML laws and regulations, including AML and related risk understanding.
•Subject matter expertise in AML transaction monitoring across business lines (e.g., Retail/Corporate Banking, correspondent banking, trade).
•Experience with AML transaction monitoring models, including tuning and optimization.
•Experience with data quality assessments and data cleansing methodologies.
