Job Summary

Join Sika’s R&D team in Lyndhurst, NJ to develop and improve cement/chemistry products from idea through product release. Lead assigned projects, independently develop new formulations to customer specifications, and apply DOE and Design FMEA to guide development and QA requirements. Perform material testing and support approvals, transfer technologies to processing, and provide technical support to manufacturing and customers. Maintain lab records, safety standards, and publish project documentation.

•Manage assigned projects from idea proposal to product release.
•Develop new products/formulations independently based on customer specifications and transfer technologies to the processing group.
•Develop DOE and Design FMEA for product development and define new product QA requirements for quality and performance.
•Perform initial material testing and obtain customer approvals; evaluate testing instruments for capital expenditure recommendations.
•Provide technical support to manufacturing plants and customers, including site visits and presentations from raw material suppliers.

Key Requirements

•BS, MS, or Ph.D degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, or Chemical Engineering (or equivalent).
•2+ years of hands-on industrial experience in cement chemistry or cementitious-based formulations.
•Experience designing experiments (DOE) and Design FMEA and other quality programs (plus).
•Good oral communication, technical presentation, and technical writing skills.
•Proficiency with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (or equivalent).
