Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide the full breadth of personal financial counseling services to service members and their families at military installations.
  • •Conduct one-on-one counseling, consultations, briefings/presentations, and provide referral resources outside counseling sessions.
  • •Work with installation and military branch Points of Contact (POC) to ensure the program is within scope and meets installation needs.
  • •Develop and provide informational financial materials and coordinate/publicize Personal Financial Management classes and workshops across the military lifecycle.
  • •Respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars and manage duty to warn situations per DoD protocol.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree required; may consider an associate degree plus 4 years’ experience or a high school diploma plus 6 years’ experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
  • •3+ years of financial counseling experience.
  • •Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English.
  • •If required by the contract, must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • •Must obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation and hold one of: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
