Senior software engineer to design, build, and harden features for a government cloud offering in AWS GovCloud. You’ll influence technical direction, mentor peers on secure design, work across product teams to meet compliance controls, and support federal customers (self-hosted and SaaS) in a regulated environment, using Ruby, TypeScript, and a modern stack to enable secure, auditable deployments.

Key Responsibilities

•Design, build, and harden product features within a compliance-regulated cloud environment with a focus on security controls, data privacy, and auditability.
•Develop AWS GovCloud-specific features: federal authentication methods, audit and compliance capabilities, and tooling for customer operation and auditing of Tines tenants.
•Create abstractions to reduce friction for engineers in GovCloud: environment-aware configuration, feature flags, and automated compliance boundary testing.
•Enable cross-environment features across commercial and government clouds: improve observability, logging, and deployment simplification.
•Mentor engineers on secure design patterns for regulated environments and contribute to on-call support for federal customers.

Key Requirements

•Approximately 7+ years as a professional software engineer with a strong track record in senior roles.
•Experience building software in compliance-regulated or security-sensitive environments (FedRAMP, FISMA, SOC 2, HIPAA or similar) and applying auditable design decisions.
•Proficiency in high-level languages; comfortable with Ruby and TypeScript, with the ability to code during interviews.
•Ability to reason about application-level security including encryption, access control, audit logging, and data retention for government deployments.
•Willingness to work across the full stack (Ruby, Rails, React, TypeScript, Postgres, Redis, AWS CDK, Kubernetes) and contribute wherever needed.
