Job Summary

Lead HSBC’s Line Control (LC) function across the Issuer Services franchise by driving consistent adherence to internal control frameworks and risk appetite. Provide oversight of global LC mandates, manage control monitoring and quality control processes, and ensure effective risk reporting and remediation across incidents, audit, RCA, and NFR reviews. Partner with Operations and Product/Client teams to roll out control best practices, lead governance committees, and build a strong risk culture while managing direct reports in Kuala Lumpur and Kolkata.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform a Line Control (LC) leadership role to ensure consistent adherence to the internal control framework and risk appetite.
•Lead the regional roll-out of Control Monitoring (CM) best practices and ensure effective implementation and conformance across key locations.
•Oversee control monitoring, reporting, and risk mitigation activities, including internal quality control processes for LC.
•Proactively manage risks and issues by partnering with Operations and supporting teams on action plans and timely remediation (e.g., incidents, audit, RCA, NFR reviews).
•Promote a strong risk and control culture through communications, learning, education, and governance committee leadership while providing LC programme representation and ad hoc initiatives.

Key Requirements

•Proven delivery track record with sound knowledge of risk management processes, including leading a multi-disciplined team and influencing senior management with practical solutions.
•Knowledge of Issuer Services products and associated post-trade operational processes.
•Strong operational understanding in global Markets or Markets/Securities Services environments.
•Experience in a product-aligned control function within investment banking.
•Well-developed leadership skills and organizational/team management ability, with solutions-led and continuous improvement/project management experience.
