Key Responsibilities

  • •Own hazardous energy control across multiple concurrent data center builds, including temporary power through commissioning and operations handoff.
  • •Write, review, and approve switching plans, LOTO procedures, energization sequences, and zero-energy verification before energizing gear.
  • •Run pre-energization and energization kick-off meetings and hold sole authority to authorize, pause, or stop energization/isolation/restoration.
  • •Audit electrical safety in the field, including JHAs, energized work permits, boundary controls, PPE, arc flash labeling, and the gap between written controls and field practice.
  • •Manage multi-site Energy Marshals (select, onboard, set standards, audit switching plans/field practice) and build the multi-site Energy Marshal standard, including templates, trackers, and training.

Salary: USD 199,000 - 247,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Energy Marshal or Controlling Energy Marshal experience for at least five years on data center or mission-critical construction, running end-to-end energizations across more than one site.
  • •Current NFPA 70E qualified-person training and an electrical safety credential (NFPA CESCP or CESW), plus OSHA 30 Construction and current First Aid/CPR/AED.
  • •Experience personally writing and approving switching orders and LOTO procedures for MV (above 1000V) and LV distribution, including utility service, MV switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS, PDUs, and busway.
  • •Experience stopping an energization when paperwork was signed but field conditions didn’t match, and safely restarting work.
  • •Ability to direct other Energy Marshals or electrical safety leads across multiple sites to a single standard and coordinate GC, electrical subcontractors, commissioning agents, utility, and owner operations teams.
