Job Summary

Senior Software Engineer for Platform Services responsible for designing and scaling distributed backend systems in a cloud environment. Key Responsibilities

•Be part of a high-impact Cloud & Platform technical team guiding the backbone of asynchronous communication in MELI.
•Model architectures, design and implement solutions addressing scalability, productivity, uptime, and resilience in distributed environments.
•Design, maintain and develop highly complex services such as BigQueue, Streams, Schedule Engine, Workqueues and Workflows, identifying new services to build.
•Proactively and intensively use AI tools to improve end-user experience while automating internal processes—validation, testing, monitoring, deployment, and debugging—reducing human error and increasing robustness.
•Assist in building efficient deployment processes, runbooks, clear documentation, and support tools (CLIs, scripts, dashboards).

Key Requirements

•Solid experience with Java
•Experience developing distributed system architectures
•Strong backend development and cloud services experience
•Solid knowledge of concurrent and high-performance programming
•Familiarity with AI development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf, CodeWhisperer) and REST APIs, Git, New Relic, DataDog (advantage)
