Job Summary

Lead structural engineering efforts for WSP’s Power & Energy projects, providing subject-matter support across due diligence, investigation, remediation, and construction. Oversee analysis and planning using site and engineering data, develop construction plans/specs and cost estimates, and ensure designs meet safety, structural soundness, and permitting requirements. Manage larger-scale projects, coordinate with multi-discipline teams and clients, mentor staff, and translate findings into technical deliverables, reports, and presentations.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide subject-matter technical support and leadership for structural engineering work across multi-site/phase due diligence through construction and operation.
•Collect and analyze project development data from physical site information, surveys, blueprints, GIS, geotechnical and hydrologic data to support design and construction.
•Develop construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, and safety/phasing plans while coordinating with owners and other disciplines/sub-consultants.
•Conduct complex investigations and inspections to determine conformance with applicable rules, standards, and construction or operating permits.
•Lead larger-scale projects by overseeing budgets, supervising subcontractors/employees, ensuring QA/QC, mentoring staff, and communicating technical findings through reports/presentations.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (or closely related discipline).
•10+ years of relevant post-education engineering experience with prior structural or civil design experience.
•Engineer license required (multi-state preferred).
•Highly proficient with structural engineering principles, practices, and design/build application to project work issues.
•Proficiency with structural/civil design software and technical tools (e.g., MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, ANSYS, HEC-RAS/HEC-HMS).
