Job Summary

Join the Water Team to lead mechanical design for water and wastewater treatment projects, from feasibility through handover. Work on multi-million-pound schemes under RC4 (2025–2029), producing P&IDs and coordinating mechanical 3D models in Plant 3D and Revit. Oversee plant selection, specifications, calculations, and design reviews (HAZOPs/ALMs), collaborate across disciplines, and act as a mechanical lead while line-managing engineers and graduates.

Key Responsibilities

•Undertake design and review of mechanical elements in wastewater and water infrastructure projects, from conception to handover.
•Prepare feasibility studies, outline design, detailed design, and construction support.
•Produce P&IDs using Plant 3D and produce/co-ordinate mechanical 3D models using Revit.
•Oversee mechanical plant selection, including specifications, pump calculations, WIMES Data Sheets, lifting strategies, and piping/plant layouts.
•Lead as Mechanical Lead on projects and line-manage Mechanical Graduates, Engineers, and Senior Engineers, including participation in design review meetings (HAZOPs/ALMs/Workshops).

Key Requirements

•A degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering.
•Chartered (or near Chartered) Member of a relevant Professional Institution.
•Hands-on experience delivering innovative solutions for water and wastewater engineering projects.
•Ability to deliver engineering designs, reports, drawings, technical specifications, and calculations with confidence and precision.
