Build and operate backend services and connector plugins for Okta’s Privileged Access Management (PAM) platform, focusing on secure database and network device connectivity. Key Responsibilities

•Design, code, debug, test, monitor, and deploy performant backend services and connector plugins in Go.
•Break ambiguous technical challenges into modular designs and execute with minimal oversight.
•Build reliable, scalable components for database scraping and network protocol management (SSH, Telnet, SNMP).
•Participate in global on-call rotation, troubleshoot complex incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and automate remediation.
•Improve engineering craft and team velocity by driving CI/CD, observability/alerting, technical documentation, and mentoring engineers through code reviews and best practices.

Key Requirements

•7+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years building high-scale cloud-native backend systems.
•Demonstrated staff-level (P4) ability to independently own large end-to-end tasks and influence technical decisions.
•Experience with Privileged Access Management (PAM), Identity and Access Management (IAM), or deep networking infrastructure (e.g., credential management, asset discovery, agentless communication patterns).
•Strong hands-on proficiency in Go (or proven ability to master Go quickly from C++/Rust/Java).
•Hands-on experience with networking protocols (SSH, Telnet, TCP/IP) plus distributed systems and asynchronous event-driven systems.
