Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform accurate diagnostics and complete mechanical and cosmetic repairs on all vehicle systems.
  • •Inspect vehicles to meet CarMax Quality Standards and complete state inspections when required.
  • •Manage repair orders, ensuring accuracy in labor, parts, and billing documentation.
  • •Maintain a clean, organized workspace and follow CarMax 5S standards and safety protocols.
  • •Provide leadership and functional expertise to support associates and managers across the store, while following CarMax EH&S requirements.

Key Requirements

  • •Completion of CarMax New Associate Orientation and Kronos Training for Hourly Associates.
  • •Ability to read, interpret, and transcribe data accurately for record-keeping.
  • •Strong multitasking skills to perform duties in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
  • •Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand or walk for extended periods, with flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • •Where required by State/Local law, maintain ASE certifications (A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, A6, A7, A8) in steering/suspension, brakes, heating/AC, electrical, engine repair, manual drive train/axles, engine performance, and automatic transmission/transaxle.
