Key Responsibilities

  • •Optimize the onboarding funnel by designing, scaling, and streamlining registration, identity verification (KYC/KYB), and fraud prevention for speed, security, and low friction.
  • •Lead the architecture of foundational user identity services (identity, profile, status, preferences) used across the ecosystem with high availability and low latency.
  • •Design resilient integrations with external vendors (biometrics engines, fraud tools, KYC providers) so third-party outages do not disrupt registration.
  • •Model and asynchronously propagate user lifecycle events (registration, tier changes, profile updates) to other verticals to enable real-time decisions.
  • •Set development standards for clean code, rigorous testing, advanced observability, safe rollback strategies, and raise the technical maturity of the vertical teams.

Key Requirements

  • •Proven experience as a Staff or Principal Engineer designing and operating complex distributed systems at scale, ideally for identity platforms, user core services, or high-traffic onboarding.
  • •Advanced backend expertise in Node.js and NestJS (TypeScript), or the ability to lead this stack from equivalent high-performance technologies such as Rust and/or Go.
  • •Strong systems design and resilience knowledge, including REST/gRPC API design, relational database optimization with PostgreSQL, and caching strategies using Redis.
  • •Experience with message queues and event streaming (RabbitMQ, Kafka, Pub/Sub) to decouple registration flows and integrations.
  • •Hands-on experience integrating and abstracting third-party services (KYC, biometrics, fraud/fallback patterns) with circuit breakers and intelligent retries.
