Location: Paris
Workplace: Onsite
Employment Type: Full time
Job Function: Software Engineering
Seniority: Mid level

Key Responsibilities

  • •Own BSP and reference images for each board, including device trees, custom layers, SDK generation, and keeping outputs aligned across kernel upgrades and silicon revisions.
  • •Own the boot chain to enable securely booting Linux, including bootloader porting, signed boot, verified rootfs, and A/B system update.
  • •Develop and validate Linux device drivers across I2C, SPI, UART, GPIO, PCIe, and MIPI (including camera and sensor interfaces).
  • •Lead software bring-up on new hardware, participate in design reviews, and debug system-level issues across the hardware/software boundary.
  • •Define verification plans and acceptance criteria, automate boot and peripheral test on real targets, document milestones, and collaborate with hardware and platform teams; mentor junior engineers as needed.

Key Requirements

  • •MSc in engineering (electrical, computer, or related); PhD a plus, with proven hands-on bring-up experience on new hardware.
  • •5+ years of embedded software experience, owning BSPs end-to-end while keeping them reproducible through hardware evolution.
  • •Strong embedded Linux build system experience (e.g., Yocto/OpenEmbedded), including custom layers, BSP integration, image build, and SDK generation.
  • •Kernel-space driver development on ARM targets, validated against real peripherals across I2C, SPI, UART, GPIO, PCIe, and MIPI, including device tree work for new board revisions.
  • •Strong C/C++ (kernel space) plus Python scripting, with version control (Git), debugging skills (GDB/JTAG/OpenOCD, tracing, ftrace, perf), and experience with bootloader porting, signed boot, and firmware update mechanisms.
