Job Summary

Technical Director leading civil/geotechnical mine waste projects with heap leach facility design expertise. Based in Tucson, Reno, or Denver offices, you’ll manage multi-disciplinary teams, direct geotechnical analyses and design of containment facilities, and drive proposals, client liaison, and safety-focused delivery on large-scale mining projects.

Key Responsibilities

•Manage and execute a wide variety of mine waste geotechnical engineering projects, including field investigations, laboratory testing programs, data interpretation, and geotechnical analysis.
•Lead civil design of mine waste containment facilities, including layout, site selection, geotechnical/hydrologic analyses, and preparation of design drawings and specifications for construction.
•Oversee complex geotechnical analyses focusing on soil mechanics (stability, seepage, thermal modelling, deposition modelling) for mine waste and embankment structures.
•Independently manage projects to client-approved scopes, delivering high-quality reports on time and within budget under senior review.
•Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to provide trusted advisor services and future-ready solutions to clients.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Geological Engineering
•14+ years of relevant experience in consulting engineering or mining
•Engineer license required (multi-state preferred)
•Experience on tailings management and heap leach facility design in mining; familiarity with commonly used software packages
•Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills with ability to lead junior engineers and multi-disciplinary teams
