Job Summary

Originate residential first mortgage loans from outside referrals and own the process end-to-end from application through closing. Develop and maintain referral relationships, qualify applicants using lending guidelines, and manage the loan pipeline while providing timely updates. Maintain expertise in mortgage policies, products, underwriting, and federal real estate lending regulations, and assume accountability for customer experience and risk management in alignment with the bank’s risk appetite.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop referral contacts, including realtors, builders, and professional/personal connections.
•Take and process applications by completing Fannie Mae Form 1003 and gathering applicant documentation.
•Use laptop-based tools to access daily rates, review applicant credit reports, and manage Loan Prospector and LOMAS loan transmission.
•Manage the loan pipeline through closing and complete required management reports.
•Provide timely communication and maintain high customer service while attending Consumer Lending meetings as required.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or equivalent; four-year college degree preferred.
•Two years of mortgage sales lending experience.
•Established, local book of business with existing mortgage sales of $1 million per month.
•Knowledge of conventional and/or government lending guidelines, plus residential mortgage processing, underwriting, and closing procedures.
•S.A.F.E. Act registration required at the time of employment through NMLS (Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System).
