Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on trucks and trailers in a mobile/field environment.
  • •Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment systems (e.g., electrical/brake/cooling, starters/alternators, engine electronics, diesel steering, transmissions, differentials).
  • •Inspect and test defective equipment, including road testing vehicles to diagnose malfunctions.
  • •Independently manage parts inventory on the company-issued service truck and perform periodic reconciliation.
  • •Complete DOT forms and repair orders (RO), document findings and parts used, and ensure work complies with safety and federal regulations.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field (or equivalent combination such as additional degree/certification or 5 years’ experience).
  • •Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform job duties.
  • •Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within eighteen (18) months.
  • •Ability to successfully complete and pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment.
  • •Must be at least 21 years or older and have a valid driver’s license (and be able to obtain/maintain a Driver Qualification File).
