Develop and implement software requirements for AFATDS International programs, working in a team environment to enhance Fire Support Command and Control (C2) capabilities. You’ll deliver new and updated AFATDS software, triage and fix bugs, and help discover future capabilities that may leverage AI toolsets and algorithms. The role emphasizes disciplined engineering work using modern build, workflow, and version-control tooling at the Fort Wayne site.

Key Responsibilities

•Implement AFATDS software capabilities for new and/or updated requirements.
•Identify, analyze, and remedy bugs in the existing AFATDS software.
•Assist with finding future software capabilities involving AI toolsets and algorithms.
•Work in a team environment under the guidance of a team leader to develop implementation plans and milestones.
•Develop Fire Support C2 software products, including advanced battlefield capability development.

Key Requirements

•Experience with one or more build tools/IDEs (e.g., CMake, make, Visual Studio, VS Code), and development workflow tools such as JIRA, Git, Subversion, Docker, plus object-oriented programming in C++ or Java.
•Typically requires a STEM degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
•Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
•Ability to work on team environments under guidance of a team leader to implement software requirements.
•Preference for AI/ML, Data Science, and software development experience.
