Key Responsibilities

  • •Architect and build large-scale systems and services for massive data volumes and complex real-time workloads, including extending ingestion pipelines for new data objects.
  • •Partner with product to define what to build and why, then improve the product post-launch based on customer usage.
  • •Own and continuously improve the backend systems behind Braze’s core data objects for performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • •Mentor engineers on best practices in software design, coding, and operations.
  • •Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering and product stakeholders to ensure core data systems are integrated and aligned with business objectives.

Key Requirements

  • •7+ years of professional software engineering experience with hands-on full-stack or backend development for high-scale, high-throughput systems.
  • •Track record delivering customer-facing products on high-scale data systems, from problem definition through launch and adoption.
  • •Proven experience building foundational, data-driven systems at scale (streaming, real-time pipelines, or large-scale data platforms).
  • •Strong technical leadership: drive architectural direction, scope large efforts, and manage technical debt with clear communication.
  • •Deep fundamentals in software design plus data structures and algorithms.
