Job Summary

Join the Common Hardware Group’s Diagnostic/BSP team to build reliable software for Cisco core and edge routing products. You’ll design, develop, and test kernel and user-space device drivers for FPGA and networking peripherals, execute software test plans, and collaborate cross-functionally to debug prototypes and validate software. This role focuses on embedded Linux hardware bring-up and device-driver development for high-performance networking workloads.

Key Responsibilities

•Design and develop BSP and Diagnostics for Cisco core and edge routing products.
•Design, develop, and test kernel and user-space device drivers for FPGA and networking peripherals.
•Develop and execute software test plans to validate reliability and performance.
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams to debug prototypes and validate software.
•Work on embedded Linux hardware bring-up and device-driver development for networking protocols.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 7+ years experience, or a Master’s degree with 10+ years experience.
•Proficient in C, C++, and Python programming.
•Strong hardware and device driver development background, including Linux hardware bring-up.
•Demonstrated experience developing hardware/device drivers with Linux bring-up, multi-threading, event handling, and state machine implementation.
•Experience developing, debugging, and validating embedded systems and device drivers for protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, PCIe, and/or GPIO.
