Job Summary

Lead financial controller responsibilities for HSBC Innovation Banking, overseeing financial and regulatory reporting, management information, tax reporting, and non-financial risk within the Finance function. Set and own IFRS accounting, drive financial reporting controls and governance, coordinate monthly/quarterly performance reporting, and oversee regulatory and statutory reporting and audit. Manage external audit relationships, lead and develop a small finance team across the UK and India, and support Finance Transformation and continuous professional development.

Key Responsibilities

•Oversee financial and regulatory reporting, management information, and tax reporting for HSBC Innovation Banking, including oversight of non-financial risk management for the Finance function.
•Embed financial reporting controls and governance across the business, including oversight of loan, deposit, and fee booking and accounting, and liaison with SOX, internal audit, and external auditors.
•Define and own IFRS accounting, ensuring timely close and filings, ledger maintenance integrity, and technical accounting support for new structures, products, or projects.
•Coordinate and consolidate monthly and quarterly management information reporting with variance analysis for senior management, the board, and regulators.
•Oversee regulatory and statutory reporting and audit production, manage external audits, and support finance transformation initiatives across systems, tools, processes, structure, and people.

Key Requirements

•Proven Financial Controller with leadership experience within a bank subsidiary and breadth across accounting, regulatory, and control disciplines.
•Strong technical knowledge of IFRS accounting and UK financial services regulatory requirements.
•Strong technical knowledge of Basel rules.
•Experienced and skilled at managing external audits and working with audit committees.
•Strong commercial leadership and people management skills, including building a world-class controllership function across multiple locations.
