Hands-on product design technologist within the Industrial Design team in San Francisco, translating visionary concepts into physical prototypes through advanced fabrication. You will build diverse prototypes, program CAD/CAM tools (Rhino, Siemens NX, Fusion 360), operate CNC and 3D printing equipment, explore materials, and inspire the studio with world-class craftsmanship while working on-site in SF.

Key Responsibilities

•Build diverse prototypes for the design team, from quick shape studies to high-fidelity aesthetic and functional prototypes.
•CAD & CAM programming: translate concepts into models and toolpaths using Rhino, Siemens NX, and Fusion 360.
•Operate CNC machines, laser cutters, 3D printers, and manual tooling to execute a wide range of processes.
•Material exploration: build models with a wide array of materials and finishes, textures, and colors.
•Be the studio’s subject matter expert in making, share knowledge of manufacturing processes, and inspire world-class craftsmanship.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 172,000 - 203,000 annually

Key Requirements

•5+ yrs experience as a prototype engineer, model maker, or in a similar role.
•Strong experience in CAD and CAM programming, with deep, practical experience using Rhino, Siemens NX, and Fusion 360.
•Strong hands-on experience operating CNC machines, general machining equipment, laser cutters, and various 3D printing technologies.
•Deep expertise in building high-quality models from a wide variety of materials.
•A comprehensive portfolio that showcases your mastery in model making, workflows, and craftsmanship.
