Job Summary

Support mission-critical enterprise IT systems for the ETM-NG program at the Pentagon by administering and optimizing NetScout performance monitoring platforms across security domains. Operate and troubleshoot Red Hat-based Linux environments, automate routine tasks with scripting, plan migrations/upgrades, and build dashboards, KPIs, and executive reports. Collaborate with Network Operations, Service Management, Cybersecurity, and Service Desk to investigate performance issues and improve service reliability using NetScout and ServiceNow data.

Key Responsibilities

•Administer, maintain, and optimize NetScout nGeniusONE, nGeniusPULSE, InfiniStream, and associated performance monitoring infrastructure.
•Provide day-to-day administration for Red Hat-based Linux distributions; troubleshoot issues by analyzing OS logs and monitoring CPU, memory, and disk usage.
•Use Bash/Shell scripting to automate administrative tasks and system backups, and plan/execute server migrations and OS upgrades with minimal downtime.
•Configure service monitors, dashboards, alerting thresholds, KPIs, service level metrics, and performance baselines; ensure platform availability, data integrity, and monitor coverage.
•Analyze network traffic and application/user experience performance, produce recurring reports for Government leadership, and correlate NetScout findings with ServiceNow incidents to improve resolution and service restoration.

Key Requirements

•Active Secret security clearance and ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI.
•Bachelor’s degree (or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree).
•8+ years of experience supporting enterprise monitoring, network operations, observability platforms, performance engineering, or enterprise network environments.
•Active Security+ CE (or higher) and one or more networking/observability/monitoring/service management certifications (e.g., CCNA/CCNP/JNCIA/JNCIS, ITIL Foundation, Splunk, Dynatrace, ThousandEyes, SolarWinds).
•Experience with enterprise observability/monitoring platforms and performance analysis (latency, traffic flow, capacity planning, baselining, and trend analysis), plus reporting/visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Excel Analytics).
