Key Responsibilities

  • •Own procurement end to end, including requests, POs, receiving, and vendor onboarding for all lab inputs.
  • •De-risk the supply chain by finding and qualifying second sources and maintaining supplier resilience.
  • •Negotiate supplier relationships and implement volume commitments and pricing agreements to recover margin.
  • •Set inventory policy (reorder points, safety stock) to prevent stockouts and avoid expired materials.
  • •Automate ordering, tracking, and reconciliation, and plan landed cost for imports including shipping, customs, duties, VAT recoverability, and cold chain.

Key Requirements

  • •Experience in supply chain or procurement in a physical, technical business (biotech/CRO/life sciences preferred), with familiarity in reagent categories and real sourcing realities.
  • •Ability to think in margins and drive cost down for high-volume protein categories.
  • •Technical confidence to collaborate with scientists and qualify alternative suppliers for biology reagents.
  • •Strong negotiation skills with vendor relationships, including willingness to walk away.
  • •Comfort with automation—writing scripts against internal and vendor systems rather than relying on portal-and-email processes.
