Key Responsibilities

  • •Interpret behavioral health documentation and coding review results (ICD-10-CM and CPT) and translate them into clear, actionable provider education and feedback.
  • •Determine whether flagged findings are accurate and identify documentation/coding errors that should be corrected and escalated.
  • •Answer provider and internal-team questions as a subject matter expert on behavioral health coding, documentation, and billing findings.
  • •Deliver clear, accurate, and empathetic responses through support channels (e.g., Zendesk).
  • •Contribute to provider education and knowledge base content, and provide insights on coding trends, risk areas, and improvements to tooling/process/training.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 60,520 - 89,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Have a CPC certification (required) and 1–2 years of experience in outpatient or professional-services coding, ideally in behavioral health.
  • •Possess a strong grasp of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines and documentation requirements.
  • •Communicate clearly and empathetically when educating providers or discussing sensitive feedback.
  • •Balance supportive coaching with enforcing provider policies related to payer standards and compliance regulations.
  • •Hold a CPMA certification (nice to have).
