Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • •Clean assigned areas throughout the museum building, including offices, storage spaces, galleries, and art spaces.
  • •Empty trash cans and replace liners; dust surfaces; sweep and mop; vacuum and buffer floors as needed.
  • •Sanitize and disinfect restrooms and facilities, including phones, wall switches, door handles, desks, chairs, and lounge furniture.
  • •Handle trash and recycling removal, collecting and taking out waste, and perform seasonal snow removal and sidewalk/terrace cleanup as needed.
  • •Support operations with courier and delivery runs via MTA, assist with events setup/breakdown, and escort vendors as necessary.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or GED required.
  • •Experience doing maintenance work and knowledge of general cleaning methodologies for museum/office spaces.
  • •Available to work weekends and flexible with schedule needs, including evening events as assigned.
  • •Able to read and write and understand policy manuals; basic computer skills are a plus.
  • •Able to lift 50 pounds or more and walk up and down flight of stairs regularly; able to work outdoors for snow/debris and gutter cleaning.
